evil bryan is the house project of Ryan Walker, a musician from Youngstown, Ohio whose roots trace back to over a decade of touring as a bassist and multi-instrumentalist in indie rock bands The Lighthouse and the Whaler and Matt Pond PA. That background still shapes his approach, with an emphasis on groove, pacing, and feel.
His sound lives between tech house and minimal, often built around flipped hip-hop and funk samples with weighty basslines. It’s groove-driven house music with a live-band sensibility.
Within a year of launching the project, evil bryan has picked up hundreds of downloads through his SoundCloud edits and early DJ support from artists like Tony H., while playing regularly in Youngstown and helping push a more house-driven sound into the local scene.
